The Purpose of This Escalation Is Not the Lachin Corridor: What Does Azerbaijan Want According to Metakse Hakobyan

“It is naive to believe that the Azerbaijani escalation is about the Lachin corridor. Some people came to Agavno, Berdzor, took pictures and thought that this halted the handover. We are well aware that on November 9, Nikol had already signed the transfer of Berdzor, Agavno, and Sus. The purpose of this escalation is not the Lachin corridor; the Azerbaijanis already consider it theirs, as they have built the road, and the Armenian side is also constructing its own road. Today, the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, says that the Azerbaijanis’ demands regarding the road are not legitimate, but when we said that, we were opposed. Now he is saying this to distract the public, as the Azerbaijani demand is now the 'Zangezur corridor',” noted Hakobyan.

When asked if the Azerbaijanis demand the 'Zangezur corridor', is it possible that the actions may expand, the MP replied: “This will continue until 'Nikol the Savior' 'saves' the rest by conceding it, just as we have seen in the last two years.”
