Stabbing in Yerevan: 72-Year-Old Man Arrested
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated a criminal case under the first part of Article 166 of the RA Criminal Code regarding a stabbing incident that occurred on Moldovan Street.
According to the Committee, reports were received regarding a stabbing incident on that street as well as about a 59-year-old man who was admitted to the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center with a "punctured and incised wound to the waist area - hemorrhagic shock" diagnosis on August 1, 2022.
Preliminary data indicates that on August 1, 2022, around 10:00 PM, during a dispute in the yard of one of the buildings on Moldovan Street, a 72-year-old resident of Yerevan stabbed the 59-year-old man, causing bodily harm.
On the same day, based on immediate suspicions of committing the crime, the 72-year-old man was arrested and has provided testimony regarding the circumstances of the incident. An examination of the crime scene was conducted, during which the knife used in the crime was discovered and seized. The investigation is ongoing.
