Traffic from Georgia to Russia and Vice Versa Temporarily Halted
The Department of Roads of Georgia reports that all types of transportation moving from Georgia to Russia and in the opposite direction have been temporarily suspended due to the crash of a rescue helicopter in Gudauri.
“Traffic is prohibited for all types of vehicles on the 94th kilometer of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi international highway due to the helicopter crash of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the specified section of the road, until the completion of rescue operations,” the statement said.
It was previously reported that in the mountains of Gudauri, Georgia, a helicopter belonging to the border police lost control and crashed while conducting a mission to assist those affected by an accident.
