Professors from Spain, the USA, and Israel: How the Expenses of the Newly Established Council Members Will Be Covered
The newspaper "Jradouh" reports. "On April 27 of this year, by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, an Economic Policy Council was established. The chairman of the council is Nikol Pashinyan. And now, "Jradouh" has learned that members of the Economic Policy Council will travel to Armenia to participate in the council's meeting, and, naturally, expenses related to their travel, accommodation, meals, protocol, and other event organization will be covered by the state budget.
First, it should be noted that among the members of the council are professors from Spain, the USA, Israel, and other countries, and it will be the state budget that covers their expenses while in Armenia.
So, what will this newly established council focus on? The operational regulations of the council state: "The council's purpose is to develop and present relevant proposals and projects regarding the socio-economic situation of the Republic of Armenia to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia." Of course, at first glance, this council may carry out important work; however, as is often the case, the decisions made may either remain on paper or no decisions will be made at all, instead, funds from the state budget will be spent to host the council members here. In fact, the authorities have found yet another way to squander state budget resources.
Former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan also spent huge sums on consultations; for example, people from Africa were brought in to advise Armenian farmers on how to grow Armenian apricots. Nikol Pashinyan seems to be going down that same path." More details on the website.
