Gunshots Reported at Sevan Peninsula Beach: What We Know

On July 29, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 6:30 PM, the Sevan police department received reports of a dispute at one of the beach areas of the Sevan peninsula, during which gunshots were heard.

According to Shamshyan.com, the information about the incident might be transferred from the Sevan police department to the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee. Currently, police officers and investigators are conducting an examination at the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Under the instruction of the head of the Gegharkunik regional police department, A. Mkrtchyan, several operational officers from the Sevan police department, led by department chief Karen Avetisyan, are investigating the site of the alleged dispute, from which the individuals involved subsequently left, and gunshots were fired.

The police and investigative division are trying to determine whether there are any victims as a result of the altercation and gunfire. Some details are known to the police and investigators, and due to the interests of the preliminary investigation, we are not disclosing them at this time.
