Confusion in Pre-Trial Bodies: What is Happening According to 'Haykakan Jirair'

'Haykakan Jirair' newspaper reports that there is a significant confusion in pre-trial bodies. Following amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, there has been a discussion within the law enforcement system regarding jurisdiction over criminal cases. If any pre-trial body, for example, the National Security Service or the Anti-Corruption Committee, is handling cases that do not fall under their jurisdiction, they are to direct them according to their appropriate jurisdiction.

As a result, pre-trial bodies have begun sending criminal cases to one another, creating operational chaos within the system. This situation has particularly angered lawyers, as investigations into cases have stalled, and according to them, by the time a new investigator familiarizes themselves with a case that has been pending for a year, the rights of their clients will be violated.
