Ara Chalabyan No Longer Employed at the Central Bank
Member of the Executive Committee of the Central Bank, Director of Corporate Services and Development Department Ara Chalabyan has been dismissed. Ara Chalabyan announced this on his Facebook page: "Dear friends, as of today, I am no longer working at the Central Bank, where I have spent many years, received and given. I am preparing to enjoy freedom and conquer the world, as one of my good colleagues likes to say."
It is noteworthy that Hetq.am had previously reported that Ara Chalabyan, brother of Aravik Chalabyan, co-founder of the 'ARAR' foundation, was urged by the Central Bank president to submit his resignation. “I met Misha Chalabyan, the father of Avetik Chalabyan. He told me that his younger son, Ara Chalabyan, who is the head of the Corporate Services Department of the Central Bank, was asked by Central Bank President Martin Galstyan to write a resignation letter. The president stated that he was compelled to do so by the government; otherwise, he, Martin Galstyan, would write a resignation letter himself,” the media quoted Vahe Vartanian's words.
Ara Chalabyan had been employed at the Central Bank since 1999.
