Akhthala tailings pour into the Debed River: Investigative Committee provides details

The Investigative Committee is conducting investigative and procedural actions to clarify all circumstances surrounding the discharge of tailings from the "Akhthala LHK" LLC company into the Debed River. This information was reported by the Investigative Committee.

A notification regarding the incident was received from the territorial division of the Environmental and Mining Inspection of Lori Province, informing about the discharge of the aforementioned company's tailings into the Debed River in the Akhtala community.

Based on the notification, a group of investigators from the Tumanyan investigative division of the Lori regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee traveled to the scene. As reported by the Investigative Committee, considering that the circumstances outlined in the notification indicate grounds for initiating a criminal proceeding, a criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 375 of the RA Criminal Code.

An investigation is underway.
