Iran to Repair and Maintain Russian Aircraft

The spokesman for Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, Mir Akbar Razaei, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Iran and Russia, based on which the number of passenger transport flights between the two countries has reached 35 per week, as reported by Mehr.

Razaei noted that the Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia met and held talks with the head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, Mohammad Mohammadi-Bakhshi, earlier this night.

During the meeting, official representatives from both countries emphasized the need to enhance bilateral cooperation in the air transport sector, he said.

During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed to increase the frequency of flights between the two countries, highlighting that the number of passenger transports has reached 35 per week.

According to the signed document, the airlines of both countries are permitted to carry out cargo transport without any capacity restrictions as per the agreement.

It was also decided to sign an agreement with Russia regarding the export of parts and equipment produced in Iran, as well as the provision of repair and maintenance services and technical support for Russian aircraft by Iranian repair centers.
