Gaspar Terteryan Becomes M17 World Champion

In the ongoing Greco-Roman wrestling M17 World Championship in Rome, Gaspar Terteryan secured a gold medal in the 60 kg weight category. In the final, he achieved an early victory with an 8-0 score against Lucas Kevin Grassoy from France, declaring him the World Champion. This marks Armenia's first medal at the World Championship.

It is noteworthy that in the semi-final match, Gaspar defeated Iranian Abolfaz Hossein Mirshakarin with a score of 5-1. In the quarter-finals, he won decisively against Turkish wrestler Yusuf Kilic with a score of 8-0. Prior to that, he also triumphed over Kazakh wrestler Yusuf Ashrapov, and in the qualification round, Gaspar won against Zan Robert Fugit from the USA with a score of 9-0.
