‘Nothing serious happened, they didn’t understand each other’: village mayor on gunshots in Aragatsotn

In the village of Ghazaravan, Aragatsotn Province, gunshots were heard around 02:40 today. One of the participants, Tigran Sargsyan, is a relative of village mayor Artak Sargsyan. This information was confirmed to NEWS.am by Artak Sargsyan.

He stated that he was not present during the incident. “I arrived when they were already taking someone to the hospital. There are two young men, they didn’t understand each other. It wasn’t anything serious,” said the mayor.

Artak Sargsyan recounted that the injured were not participants in the incident. It is reported that three residents from the village were taken to hospitals with gunshot wounds around midnight, including a woman.

It has emerged that village residents Tigran Sargsyan and Gurgen Movsisyan had an argument, during which Movsisyan fired shots in Sargsyan’s direction. Movsisyan also pursued Tigran Sargsyan and fired at him again, resulting in three village residents suffering various degrees of bodily injury from gunfire. The dispute occurred next to the house of the woman who was injured, and they came out due to the noise of the argument and were wounded.
