Opposition to Enter Parliament in September, Says Saghatelyan
The opposition will enter the parliament in September, but on its own agenda. There is no change in their position on this issue, said Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) in an interview with Erkir Media.
According to him, the agenda of the ruling party's lawmakers does not serve the interests of the Armenian people at all, and all initiatives from the opposition have been boycotted.
"The country is facing a parliamentary crisis, a political crisis, and if they attempt to strip the opposition of mandates through yet another illegal and unconstitutional means, there will also be a complete constitutional crisis in the country," Saghatelyan stated, emphasizing that they cannot talk to the opposition in a language of blackmail, as they are not students who can be expelled for absences.
He considers the boycott of parliamentary work justified, noting that it is due to the movement that the government's rhetoric on the Artsakh issue has changed, but this is not yet an achievement. Currently, the ‘Resistance’ movement is in the phase of organizational work, and starting in September, the struggle will gain new energy and spirit.
