Robert Kocharyan Tests Positive for Coronavirus

The trial related to the corruption case of the 2nd President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, and Armen Gevorgyan commenced at the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction. Absent from the hearing was defendant Robert Kocharyan. His lawyer, Hayk Alumyian, announced that Robert Kocharyan has been diagnosed with coronavirus. 'Mr. Kocharyan took a test on July 14, and it was confirmed that he has contracted the virus,' the lawyer stated, presenting the medical certificate to presiding judge Anna Danibekyan.

It should be reminded that at the previous hearing, Anna Danibekyan permitted 'Armenia' faction MP Armen Gevorgyan to temporarily leave the country from July 5 to July 19.

The next court session will take place on September 20, due to the vacation of Armen Gevorgyan's defense lawyer, Lusine Sahakyan, and the presiding judge.
