“The CP will pardon all opposition members in 7 days,” Naira Zohrabyan
Former MP Naira Zohrabyan's post: “The CP will pardon all opposition members in 7 days.
This evening, a session of the National Assembly council is scheduled, during which the council is to decide whether to appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the deprivation of parliamentary mandates from 33 deputies of the two opposition factions. The justification for this is their absence during more than half of the votes in one session.
Honestly, I thought that Nikol would deprive a few of the more stubborn opposition members of their parliamentary mandates while 'graciously' forgiving the others in an attempt to divide the opposition factions as well.
However, after analyzing and correlating several facts, I am almost certain that the National Assembly council will decide not to appeal to the Constitutional Court for the deprivation of any opposition deputy's mandate during today's session. The reasoning will be that they were elected by the people, and the people should evaluate their inactivity and express their attitude through voting in the next elections.
Today's discussion should also include opposition deputies, who will certainly not attend. This will mean that the decision to 'pardon' all opposition will be postponed for 7 days.
Thus, in a week, the CP will document that they are a 'perfect' democratic political force and, even in cases where the legal threshold for absences is breached, respect the choice made by the people and do not appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding any opposition deputy.
The National Assembly council session was convened because it is a constitutional requirement. That’s how it is.”
