Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Amends Statement Regarding Statue of Jesus Christ

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport has revised its statement regarding the statue of Jesus Christ.

Media reports indicate that yesterday’s clarification included a section stating that the information about the location being chosen on Mount Hatis was obtained from media sources. However, today the ministry has edited the statement and removed that particular section.

It should be noted that earlier the ministry had disseminated statements informing that the information about the statue’s location on Mount Hatis had been acquired from media outlets.

At the same time, regional workers from the ministry’s subordinate ‘Service for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments and the Historical Environment’ have reported that road construction and widening works are being conducted towards the summit of Mount Hatis.
