US Legislators Urge Biden to Abandon Plans to Sell F-16s to Turkey

Thirty-five US lawmakers have sent a letter to President Joe Biden expressing their disagreement regarding the potential sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey and the associated upgrades.

The legislators justified their opposition to selling aircraft to Turkey by citing the country's widespread violations of international law, both domestically and abroad, as well as President Erdoğan's destabilizing activities.

The letter addressed to Biden was published on Twitter by US Congressman Frank Pallone.

The lawmakers emphasized that Erdoğan's regime has repeatedly used its military power over the years to destabilize situations in the South Caucasus, the Middle East, the eastern Mediterranean, and North Africa.
