Turkey Behind Latest Azerbaijani Gunfire Towards Armenian Borders, Says Sargsyan
It is clear that this is blackmail and pressure, as they are unable to reach an agreement on something. This was stated by international expert Suren Sargsyan during an interview with Factinfo, addressing the gunfire from the Azerbaijani armed forces towards the Vayots Dzor direction.
According to him, this gunfire is not only directed against the Republic of Armenia; it is evident that it is also aimed at Russia. Taking advantage of Russia's difficult and occupied situation, Azerbaijan is trying to gain advantageous positions in all possible directions.
“I am confident that Turkey is behind this gunfire, and these developments certainly do not only involve Azerbaijan and Armenia; the issues concerning us are being developed and finalized by Russia and Turkey,” said Sargsyan.
He noted that Turkey has begun to play a sufficiently independent game, especially against the backdrop of recent developments. “This particularly concerns the political situation of Scandinavian countries regarding NATO integration, and in this regard, Turkey's approval was a very serious anti-Russian step. Russia has military presence only in Armenia in the South Caucasus, and if Russia withdraws from Armenia, it means leaving the South Caucasus, and the entire region changes, increasing Turkey's influence,” Sargsyan added.
