VIDEO: A Group of Illegal Foreign Residents Identified in Armenia, 33 of Whom Are on the Wanted List
From June 26 to July 4, coordinated by the criminal police and the relevant department of the NSS, the first phase of the operation "Illegal-2022" aimed at combating illegal migration was conducted in the administrative territory of Armenia and at border checkpoints. As a result, around 36 citizens from seven countries who were residing in Armenia without valid permits, residency status, or with invalid documents were discovered and presented to the Police Department of Passports and Visas. Reports have been prepared regarding these facts.
Inspections also revealed that 18 foreign nationals were working in nightclubs operating for a long time in Yerevan, Armavir, and Kotayk without documents certifying their temporary residence status issued under the law on "Foreigners." Reports have also been prepared regarding these cases and sent to the Health and Labor Inspectorate of Armenia.
During the operation, one case of causing bodily harm and three cases of illegal drug circulation were uncovered. Over 7 grams of cocaine, more than 93 grams of methamphetamine, and over 5 grams of marijuana were seized. Additionally, 33 individuals who were on the wanted list were identified.
