Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during the cabinet meeting on July 7, addressed the meeting between special representatives of Armenia and Turkey aimed at the normalization of relations on July 1 before discussing the topics on the agenda. During this meeting, an agreement was reached to open the Armenia-Turkey border for citizens of third countries, as well as to conduct air transportation for cargo between Turkey and Armenia and vice versa.
“It is now very important for our agencies to work with corresponding authorities in Turkey. Political agreements are one thing, but their implementation depends on that work, and my instruction is to coordinate our efforts in order to realize the agreements reached as soon as possible,” Pashinyan stated.
It is noteworthy that on July 1, special representatives for normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan and Ambassador Serdar Kılıç, agreed to provide an opportunity for citizens of third countries visiting Armenia and Turkey to cross the land border as soon as possible and decided to start the necessary processes in that direction.
They also agreed to initiate direct air cargo transportation between Armenia and Turkey as soon as possible and have determined to start the necessary processes in that respect. For more details, watch the video.
