Tragic Incident in Yerevan: 25-Year-Old Girl Dies in Hospital, Relatives Blame Medical Center
Today, on July 7, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 07:00, an emergency medical team transported a young girl in agonal condition from an apartment on Tbilisi Highway to the Number 1 University Hospital.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the young girl was 25-year-old Tamara A., who was taken to the Number 1 University Hospital, where biological death was recorded.
According to G. Shamshyan's reports, the previous day, Tamara A. was hospitalized at the “St. Grigor Lusavorich” Medical Center due to abdominal pains, where she was examined and told that no pathology was found, and she was discharged.
Once home, the pains intensified, leading to two emergency calls, and today, due to ongoing pain, she was transported to the Number 1 University Hospital, but her life could not be saved.
G. Shamshyan reported that the incident has already been reported to the Kanaker-Zeytun Division of the Police from the Number 1 University Hospital, which then forwarded the information to the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan City Investigation Department, where a criminal case has been initiated.
In an interview with the photojournalist, relatives of the deceased, who refused to speak on camera, stated: “Neither the ambulance nor the Number 1 University Hospital is to blame. If that young girl had received proper care at the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center and had been kept in the hospital for two days, being told there was nothing wrong, she would still be with us now.”
