Is it not clear that for them, the important thing is to sit in a room with 'emendations' and receive bonuses? - Abrahamyan
Member of the National Assembly 'I Have Honor' faction Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page: 'The government brought a legislative initiative package, the sole purpose of which was to make the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces the Deputy Minister of Defense. I have analyzed this topic from various perspectives multiple times, and I will not touch upon it again. This implied technical amendments in several laws at once. Some of it also relates to the relationships between the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, the National Security Council, and the Prime Minister. We have been discussing this for 4-5 months now, and about 4 months ago we even submitted written proposals and comments to the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, but for the government, this is a political decision, and that’s it; they didn’t even respond. The issue is set to pass through the National Assembly.
To be honest, I do not understand the expectations or questions regarding how it was an important package of reforms if the opposition were to confront the Minister of Defense in the National Assembly. Has it not yet become clear that for them, the important thing is to sit in a room with 'emendations' and receive bonuses, while at the same time trying to attach tenders or privileges, going on business trips, turning the army into a party 'store,' which we have spoken about endlessly, both with and without a mandate? With whom and about what should we talk? How do we explain to those who envision the future of Artsakh within Azerbaijan the importance of the army or the peculiarities related to border security? They are interested in the party control of the army by Civil Contract (Lilac Party), and no other opinion matters.'
