Enemy Advancement Noted in Nerkin Hand: Ohanian and Gegham Manukyan Visit Syunik Province

On July 6, Seyran Ohanian, the leader of the "Armenia" faction, and MP Gegham Manukyan visited Syunik Province to familiarize themselves with the situation on the ground and to gain a comprehensive understanding of the enemy's advancement in the area of Nerkin Hand in March.

They were accompanied by former Major General Valerik Kocharyan. According to the reports from the "Armenia" faction, the MPs first met with the mayor of Kapan, Gevorg Parsyan, and local officials before visiting the communities of Nerkin Hand and Shikahogh, where they met with local residents.

The residents shared their concerns regarding the prevailing situation. Particularly, those living in Nerkin Hand expressed worries about the enemy's advancements in February and March 2022, which have become a serious security threat to the community and to Armenian defenders in the region.

Observations made on-site have revealed that, contrary to the statements made in the National Assembly by the Minister of Defense of Armenia, there has indeed been enemy advancement in Nerkin Hand in recent months; however, it was possible to hinder such advancements and prevent further threats to the security system.

The MPs expressed regret that, despite prior agreements, representatives from the Armed Forces of Armenia did not participate in the visit to discuss the situation and present their justifications. The issue remains open, and it is noteworthy that enemy advancement occurred in the spring of 2022 on Armenian sovereign territory, which has yet to be halted.

After the visit, it is clear that the authorities are doing everything to ensure that the disgraceful concessions and withdrawals resulting from their inaction are forgotten. It is important to highlight the situation through such visits and inquiries and to prevent the dangers threatening our country from being concealed through deception.
