What Caused the Shark Aggression in Hurghada? Experts Weigh In
Divers studying fish behavior in Hurghada are inclined to believe that the aggression of sharks may be caused by the noise from motorboats. According to Armenia's Armenpress, the TASS news agency reports that two factors have played a crucial role in the history of predator fish attacks on humans: the breeding season of sharks and the noise from motorboats during this phase.
Studies indicate that there is a 95% probability that the women who died at the end of last week in Egypt were attacked by a tiger shark. “The breeding season for tiger sharks is now coming to an end. During this phase, they swim into the shallow areas. The fish have become trapped in the strait, where there are many motorboats near the exit, and have shown aggressive behavior,” said diver Mohammed Samir.
A few days ago, a 68-year-old Austrian national living in Egypt died due to a shark attack in Hurghada. It was later revealed that this was the second documented case of a shark attack, which also resulted in the death of a tourist from Romania.
