Ukraine Prepares for Counteroffensive, According to The Economist

Ukraine is preparing for a counteroffensive to liberate the Kherson region occupied by Russia. This was reported by The Economist, citing sources from military intelligence.

The publication noted that Kherson is the gateway to Crimea and the only regional center that Russia has managed to capture since the onset of the large-scale war on February 24. Additionally, the occupation of neighboring Kakhovka is of strategic importance.

The entire region is an agricultural hub supplying tomatoes, watermelons, and sunflowers. For these reasons and others, Ukraine prioritizes efforts to reclaim the territory.
