Turkey Acts Without Consideration When Faced With Danger, Says Cavusoglu

The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed several agenda issues in an interview with NTV, as reported by ermenihaber.

He asserted that they had documented in their submission to Sweden and Finland that the PYD (Democratic Union Party of Syria) and PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) have connections with each other. Additionally, they provided information about individuals they allege are terrorists involved in terrorism and whose criminal activities have been confirmed.

Cavusoglu accused the US, France, and some other countries of being duplicitous and applying double standards. According to him, Finland and Sweden must adhere to this document. “If they do not comply, we will not accept them into NATO. When Turkey faces a threat, it does everything necessary to eliminate it,” he warned.

In response to a question about what would happen if Finland and Sweden failed to comply with the terms of the agreement after potential membership, Cavusoglu replied, “We have agreements with the US and Russia as well. They were supposed to push those terrorists 30 kilometers south, but they failed. Recently, the terrorist organization has increased the number of attacks both inside Syria and from Syria to our territories. We will solve our issues ourselves and we will cleanse them. If those countries do not stand by their word, we will also take our respective steps. Turkey does not take into account who is where when faced with danger; it does what needs to be done and eliminates it.”
