Uzbekistan President Declares State of Emergency in Karakalpakstan

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has declared a state of emergency in the territory of Karakalpakstan from July 3 to August 2, where disturbances have occurred. This information was announced on Saturday by the spokesman for the head of state, Sherzod Asadov.

According to the decree, during the state of emergency in Karakalpakstan, the protection of public order and essential facilities will be strengthened. At the same time, the movement of public transport will be restricted, and any mass events will be prohibited.
