Gas Stations Underreporting Fuel to be Penalized: New Bill

Deputy Tsovinar Vardanyan from the ruling 'Civil Contract' faction of the National Assembly has announced on her Facebook page that she and her colleague Babken Tunean have introduced a bill aimed at penalizing gas stations found to be underreporting fuel.

According to the proposed legislation, if liquid fuel, compressed natural gas, or liquefied petroleum gas is found to be underreported at retail points, a visible notice stating 'WE HAVE BEEN PENALIZED FOR UNDERREPORTING' will be affixed at the dispensing stations for a period of one month.

Business entities will have QR codes available at their addresses, allowing drivers to access information about the dates and results of previous inspections conducted in the field of metrology regarding that business.

The bill also specifies that penalties will be imposed on the organization responsible for the violation at the specific address, with the fine calculated by including factors related to the business’s sales.

These amendments aim to enhance public oversight, increase transparency in business operations, and establish more proportional penalties.
