Father Searching for His Son Among the Deceased Has Found Him Alive
The president of the Stepanakert Press Club, Gegham Baghdasaryan, wrote on his Facebook page: “Today, a meeting and a good news warmed my soul... During the 44-day war, one day I met photographer Hakob Poghosyan and journalist Edik Baghdasaryan in front of the St. Mother of God Cathedral in Stepanakert, on the sidewalk near the ‘Park Hotel’. We were having a concerned conversation about the events of the day when a thin man with a black beard and dark clothes approached us and said he was looking for his son. He mentioned that he had seen his son's name in the regularly published lists of the deceased but couldn't find him. Hakob and Edik were asking questions and suggesting contacts, and I just said one thing. I said, ‘Don’t be afraid, there have already been several cases where the information in those lists was incorrect and later confirmed.' Parents sometimes see the first reports, but don’t see the follow-up information that corrects it. I told him, ‘So don’t lose hope, God is great.’ After the war, I would occasionally picture that man in my mind, wondering what had happened to him... Anyway, today I ran into Hakob on the street. We talked about various things from those days. I asked him if he remembered that episode. He said, ‘Yes, the thin man with the black beard.’ I said, ‘Yes, yes, the same one.’ He then said, ‘He has found his son alive.’
