We Are on the Path of Becoming Libya and Syria as a State, Says Turkologist
In yet another country devastated by populism, the parliament building in Libya was stormed and set on fire yesterday. Turkish scholar Varuzhan Geghamyan wrote on Facebook: "Since the events known as the 'Arab Spring' in 2010, the Libya that was once somewhat established as a state is now fragmented, and a civil war continues, while superpowers and major regional players are trying to take control of various parts of the country. One of these is Turkey, which supports certain forces in the Libyan chaos; this support is not only political but also military. As a state, we are currently on the path of becoming Libya and Syria."
