Approximately 30% of the Population is Poisoned, Says Director of Ninozminda Health Center
On the evening of June 29, cases of poisoning were revealed in the village of Great Aragyul in the Ninozminda region. Residents suspect that the cause of the poisoning could be contaminated drinking water, according to Jnews.
“According to the people's opinion, the poisoning is associated with the water; that is the assumption. The number of poisoned individuals is quite significant, about 30 percent of the population. There are no severe cases; gastrointestinal symptoms are present—general weakness, nausea, diarrhea—but these are short-lived, lasting for two days at most, three. The residents are mainly concerned about the weakness,” stated Tigran Yeghoyan, the director of the Ninozminda Public Health Center.
The water reservoir has been chlorinated, and a sample of the water has been taken for laboratory investigation. Residents are advised to use the water only after boiling it.
