Video: Azerbaijanis Sequentially Apologize to Russians, What Did They Do?
Azerbaijanis are at the center of yet another scandal. A conflict arose between neighbors in Surgut, Russia, after a neighbor named Dmitry filmed children closing themselves in an elevator and attempting to damage it. According to 86.ru, the man posted the video in a special chat for residents and asked parents to have educational conversations with their children.
One of the children's mothers, Raya Mamedova, who is of Azerbaijani descent, began to hurl insults and verbally attack the man, with the insults even targeting his nationality—specifically directed at Russians. This incident quickly spread across social media, prompting Russians to respond by calling for a collective complaint against Mamedova and her family to be filed with the police.
Within the Azerbaijani community in Surgut, both the woman's husband and the woman herself have since posted apology videos. It is known that the woman was taken in for questioning and later released. Whether the police will initiate a criminal case will be determined after a linguistic examination of the video that is circulating online.
