Former Republican MP Levon Sargsyan, widely known by his nickname 'Alraghaci Lyovik', has been sentenced to 9 years in prison after being found guilty of ordering and organizing the armed robbery of the residence of former head of the Customs Committee, Armen Avetisyan, 14 years ago.
His son-in-law, Suren Ghazaryan, received an 8-year prison sentence, which, accounting for the time spent in custody, results in a final punishment of 7 years, 11 months, and 26 days.
It is noteworthy that the prosecuting attorney, Vache Ghazaryan, had requested an 11-year sentence for Levon Sargsyan and a 10-year sentence for Suren Ghazaryan.
