Yerevan and Baku Make Some Progress on Communications Issues: Mher Grigoryan
The working group of deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia, which addresses the unblocking of regional infrastructures, has reached a convergence of positions on certain issues, particularly related to border and customs control. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan in an interview with the Russian TASS agency.
“I consider the activities of the trilateral commission dealing with the unblocking of infrastructure in the South Caucasus to be constructive. This is undoubtedly a difficult job, but I must note that the parties have managed to align their positions on numerous issues related to customs and border control, as well as on the transport of vehicles and cargo through the territories of Armenia and Azerbaijan by road and rail,” he stated.
As Grigoryan noted, “at this moment, expert subgroups continue to discuss issues related to the restoration and further operation of road and rail infrastructures.”
It is worth mentioning that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a press conference on Monday that Azerbaijan continues to create obstacles in the work of the trilateral commission, particularly refusing to sign a document to commence construction work on the railway.
