For several days now, a video from five years ago on the hunting of the bezoar goat, registered in the Republic of Armenia's Red Book, has been circulating on the internet. The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia has issued a clarification regarding this matter and stated that the circumstances of the incident have long been clarified.
In the ministry's statement, it is also mentioned: “We inform that in order to clarify the circumstances of the video regarding the hunting of the bezoar goat registered in the Republic of Armenia's Red Book, the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body addressed the police in 2020. As a result of the measures taken by the police, it was established that the hunting of the bezoar goat in the aforementioned video was organized in April 2017 by ‘Safari International’ LLC, which is a hunting enterprise and operated under Article 27.2 of the law on the animal world of the Republic of Armenia, as well as based on a contract signed between ‘Hayantar’ SNCO and ‘Safari International’ LLC, for which ‘Hayantar’ SNCO is taking appropriate measures towards its termination.”
