Due to the rising water levels of the Terek River, a section of the road leading to the Upper Lars checkpoint has collapsed, causing a complete ban on vehicle traffic. This information was reported by the Department of Highways of Georgia.
"A 80-meter-long section was damaged at the 136th kilometer of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars international highway. All types of vehicle traffic are prohibited," the announcement states.
