Video: Miners Entered the Mine, Lost Contact After a While; Employees Block Kapan-Yerevan Highway

Employees of the mining enrichment plant are worried about the fate of their colleagues who are in the mine and have lost all means of communication. The workers of Chaarat Kapan LLC have blocked the Kapan-Yerevan highway, demanding the restoration of communication means in the mining area to receive information about their colleagues who have declared a hunger strike.

Previously, four employees entered the mine and declared a hunger strike, demanding higher wages and medical insurance. After some time, all contact with them was lost.

“The situation is already critical; our guys have started a hunger strike since yesterday. We have no contact with those in the mine, we have no information about them. We demand the immediate restoration of all communication means so that we can know the status of our guys,” stated one of the participants in the protest.

It should be noted that the employees of the plant have met with Syunik region governor Robert Ghukasyan regarding this issue.
