VIDEO: How the Bleachers Collapsed During Bullfighting
In the Tolima department of Colombia, during a traditional festival featuring bull racing, the bleachers filled with spectators collapsed, local media report casualties and a large number of injuries.
"According to preliminary reports, at least two people have died as a result of the incident, and 60 others have been injured," reported La FM radio.
Other media outlets suggest that the number of those affected by the collapse of the bleachers in the town square of Espinal could reach 500 people. Official information about the incident has not yet been released.
Following the incident, a furious bull escaped from the square, causing panic in the streets of the town.
The Corraleja is a street bullfight in Colombia, where killing the animals is illegal. After the event, exhausted animals are removed from the arena and replaced with others. Fatalities among bullfighters are not uncommon.
