Major Accident on the Ashtarak-Echmiadzin Highway

On June 27, at 02:46, the Ararat regional crisis management center received a report about a traffic accident on the Ashtarak-Echmiadzin highway, near the village of Sasunik, with casualties reported.

A firefighting and rescue squad from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a "GAZ 53" truck (driver A.M., born in 1972) collided with an "Opel Astra" vehicle (driver L.M., born in 1998). The driver of the Opel Astra was pronounced dead at the scene, while A.M. was hospitalized at Ashtarak Medical Center before the arrival of the rescuers; his health condition was assessed as satisfactory.

The rescuers, using special equipment, removed L.M.'s body from the vehicle and brought it closer to the ambulance, deactivated the vehicles involved, and carried out road cleaning operations.
