VIDEO: Tourists Found in Cars Stuck in the Black Sea, Stopped for the Night
People whose cars were swept into the sea have come from the Stavropol region and stopped by the riverbank to sleep at night, said Sochi Mayor Alexey Kopaygorodsky. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
As previously reported, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that water currents from the Chemityokvadze River swept two cars into the Black Sea in the area of the village of Zubova Shchel. One person has been rescued, and one body has been found. According to preliminary information, there were 7 people in the vehicles, and search operations are ongoing. According to the Investigative Committee, among those being searched for are three children.
The media outlet has also published footage of the rescue of a citizen. It is also noted that a storm warning has been issued in Sochi. Meteorologists predict thunderstorms, hail, tornadoes, mudflows, strong winds, and rising water levels in rivers.
