Video: Suspect Demands Money for Stolen Mobile Phone

On June 18, around 4 PM, a woman's mobile phone was openly stolen on Arshakunyats Avenue. The Police of the Republic of Armenia reports this.

“Later, when the victim sent a message to her number, the robber demanded 50,000 drams in exchange for returning the phone. An operational plan was developed at the Shengavit police station, according to which the victim was to hand over the requested amount for the phone in a park adjacent to Haik Hovsepyan Street. Around 8 PM, criminal investigators apprehended a young man near the mentioned park on suspicion of robbery and extortion. His identity was revealed at the station: he was a 17-year-old resident of Yerevan.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The apprehended young man has been arrested. The investigation is underway,” the report stated.
