Poland's Government Announces Country Can Survive Without Russian Gas
Poland is capable of surviving in the absence of Russian gas supplies to Europe. This was stated by Piotr Naimski, the government’s representative for strategic energy infrastructure, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We can survive in the absence of Russian gas supplies,” Naimski said during a forum dedicated to the situation surrounding Ukraine, which was attended by representatives from the European Union and the United States.
According to him, the long-term contract with Russian Gazprom was supposed to end in late 2022. However, Moscow halted supplies as early as April. Nevertheless, as Naimski pointed out, Warsaw can meet its domestic fuel needs. The country's reserves are already 100% filled.
