General of Customs Service Arrested in Azerbaijan

A former head of the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee's "Аzerterminalcomplex" association, General-Major Ehtiram Khalilov has been arrested in Azerbaijan. Local media reports this news.

As a precautionary measure, Khalilov has been placed in custody for a period of four months. He was arrested two days ago during a special operation conducted by the country’s State Security Service.

Khalilov is accused of receiving a bribe of over 200,000 manats (approximately $120,000), exceeding official authority, and committing a number of other offenses.
