1 Dead, 6 Injured: MP Denies Involvement in Gunfire Incident in Aparan

Mathevosh Asatryan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, has denied rumors on his Facebook page claiming that he or any of his family members were involved in a tragic incident that occurred hours earlier.

“Dear citizens, I would like to announce that the reports circulating in the press and spread by some immoral political figures, claiming that I or my family members participated in the tragic incident that occurred hours ago, are absolutely false and have no basis in reality. It is evident that those who have made murder their sacred belief are trying to equate us with them through these false reports. It will not succeed, you scoundrels. I offer my condolences to the relatives of the deceased and wish a quick recovery to the injured. I am confident that the case will be fully resolved soon. Moderation to all of us,” he wrote.

Earlier reports indicated that a dispute had occurred between Asatryan's relatives and the cousins of Edgar Parvanyan, Deputy Governor of Aragatsotn from the same party. According to media reports, gunfire was exchanged during the altercation, resulting in one death and six injuries.
