France Comments on Macron's Planned Visit to Kyiv
The visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Kyiv is currently under discussion, and no final decision has been made on the matter. This was announced to reporters by the government spokesperson, Olivia Grégoire.
“The president has repeatedly stated that he could go to Ukraine when it is helpful for resolving the situation. Many different options are under discussion, but a decision has not yet been reached,” Grégoire stated.
She also noted that the president's visit to Romania on June 4 is primarily a fulfillment of a promise made during the presidential election.
Earlier, it was reported that Macron would visit French military personnel stationed in Romania during the trip. Additionally, La Stampa reported that Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Macron could jointly visit Kyiv on Thursday, June 16. Prior to this, the possibility of the Kyiv visit was mentioned by Bild am Sonntag, although the publication did not specify the exact timing of the trip, according to TASS.
