Ukrainian Prisoners' Mothers Plead Not to Return Their Sons, Fearing Retaliation

Mothers of Ukrainian prisoners held in Russia have requested that their sons not be returned to Ukraine due to concerns over their safety. This was reported by Tatiana Moskalkova, the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights.

“Today, I am receiving new appeals from Ukrainian mothers. They are asking that their sons not be returned because they believe their sons will either be sent back to the front lines or subjected to persecution,” Moskalkova stated.

According to the Russian official, similar requests have been received from two prisoners. She noted that the final decision on this matter lies within the jurisdiction of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
