When the EU Commission Will Announce Its Position on Ukraine's Membership

The European Commission will clarify by the end of next week whether Ukraine should be a candidate for EU membership. This was announced by the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, according to RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Ukraine to discuss Kyiv's application for EU membership. “As you know, the Commission is currently preparing what is called an expert opinion proposal for the EU member states. We are working day and night on that assessment. Thus, today’s discussions will allow us to finalize our evaluation by the end of next week,” said Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference in Kyiv.
