What Happened in the Metro and Why Trains Did Not Stop at the 'Baghramyan' Station

Due to security considerations, trains did not stop at the metro's 'Marshal Baghramyan' station for nearly 2 hours.

This was related to the meeting of the CSTO Council of Ministers taking place at the residence of the President of Armenia, reports the metro's press service.

It is noteworthy that a narrow-format meeting of the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states is currently underway in Yerevan, which will be followed by an expanded meeting.

Earlier, the former head of the Constitutional Court's staff, Edgar Ghazaryan, wrote on his page: "The cowards have closed the 'Marshal Baghramyan' station of Yerevan Metro, probably the entire metro system, without notifying citizens in advance, causing great concern to thousands of citizens. Baghramyan Avenue is also closed to all types of vehicles, including public transport coming from Komitas Avenue, Kyiv and other streets. If this were done by participants of a peaceful protest, hundreds of citizens would be detained, and brutal and disproportionate force would be applied against them, but when the authorities do this, no measures are taken."
