Two Psychiatric Patients Kidnap Their Doctor in Russia
In Moscow region, two schizophrenic patients (this is an official diagnosis) kidnapped their psychiatrist for the purpose of demanding a ransom of 15 million rubles. The details of the incident are reported by life.ru.
They resorted to this extreme measure because they decided to open a boxing museum. This idea originated from Gazinur Shigapov, the leader of the Krasnogorsk boxers' and coaches' union. Over the course of his 63 years, he has worked as a private investigator, has been imprisoned for extortion, and spent a year in a psychiatric hospital for paranoid schizophrenia. In order to realize his dream and simultaneously take revenge on the doctor who held him in the psychiatric hospital 15 years ago, he, along with his accomplice, kidnapped the psychiatrist.
Together with his 58-year-old accomplice Sergey Nemenyuk, who had also been treated in the same institution, the boxer kidnapped Evgeny G. and hid him in Krasnogorsk. They demanded a ransom of 15 million rubles.
The psychiatrist opted not to argue with his patients and accepted their terms, agreeing to pay 2.5 million rubles and also included a bequest for Shigapov. Everything proceeded smoothly. The criminals received the money after a visit to the notary and released the doctor. After regaining his freedom, the psychiatrist contacted the police.
As a result, they managed to apprehend the kidnappers, and a criminal case was initiated regarding the extortion incident. Notably, before their arrest, the duo had already spent the ransom money.
