A Woman Claims That MP Bakoyan from the ruling party assaulted her
Scandal is brewing around the name of Rustam Bakoyan, a member of the ruling party and of the National Assembly's Human Rights Committee. According to Politik.am, Bakoyan's civil partner has reported that during their cohabitation, the MP has subjected her to physical violence on multiple occasions.
Photos taken after two such incidents have been provided to Politik.am by Bakoyan's former wife.
As reported by the media outlet, the woman called the police after one incident of violence, and she was invited to one of the police departments in Yerevan, where she filed a report about the crime, but later withdrew the complaint to avoid harming her beloved man.
The woman also mentioned that she moved to Armenia at the request of the MP. During their time together, Bakoyan lived in the woman's private residence for two years and spent her financial resources. Over these years, according to the report, the woman has given Bakoyan more than $15,000 in cash.
Now, the woman finds herself in a desperate situation, as Bakoyan has concocted various reasons to take all her savings and left, while she is left to address the issue of their underage children on her own.
The woman demands that Bakoyan return the money he took from her children, along with gold and other material belongings.
To understand how much of this information corresponds to reality, Auroranews.am contacted Rustam Bakoyan. He stated that he is not familiar with the publication, will review it, and will only then comment. For more than an hour, we attempted to reach the MP again, but were unable to make contact.
