Turkey Sets 10 Conditions for Lifting NATO Membership Veto on Sweden and Finland

Turkey will lift its veto on NATO's membership for Sweden and Finland if the countries meet its ten conditions, a Turkish newspaper reports.

The main demand from Turkey is for the countries to cease support for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and other organizations in the region that Turkey considers terrorist groups.

Turkey is calling for a comprehensive "fight against terrorism," including halting communications with these organizations, freezing their assets, and banning Kurdish demonstrations in those countries.

Furthermore, Turkey demands intelligence-sharing and the lifting of restrictions related to defense industries linked to Turkey.

It is noteworthy that in May, amid the backdrop of the Ukrainian war, Finland and Sweden applied for NATO membership. Turkey has declared it will block their entry into the alliance because Finland and Sweden support Kurdish movements.
